Senior Stylist Mayumi Yunes grew up watching her mother style hair in Japan and knew no matter what course her life took, she would one day do the same. After graduating from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and teaching fourth-grade students for a time, she was ready to embark on her destiny. Upon graduating from Paul Mitchel Academy, RI, Mayumi came to James Joseph Salon determined to master her craft. The personal assistant to our most award-winning stylist during her first year, Mayumi studied scrupulously and transitioned to the floor in record time. Now with years of her own experience, her quest for mastery has accorded Mayumi with a wealth of knowledge in advanced coloring and certifications from Wella, Chromastics and Goldwell Color. Meticulous by nature and a very thorough communicator, Mayumi is known for her comprehensive consultations. Any fears or trepidations are gently assuaged and a beautiful result is consistently delivered, as any of Mayumi’s deathly loyal clients can attest! She has a been a spearhead for the James Joseph Salon Training Program to our great benefit, and continues perfect her rhythmic yet defined technique bringing a refreshing modernity to otherwise conservative styles.
