James Joseph Salon: About Page "Welcome"

James Joseph Salon opened in 1997 with 5 stylists in a 1000 square foot basement on Boston's fashionable Newbury Street, home of 70 salons in 7 blocks. 5 years later, we moved to a 2100 square foot architecturally dynamic, sun splashed loft at 30 Newbury Street with 19 stylists.

In 2005, we opened the first James Joseph Studio on Newbury Street, a slightly more casual and lower priced salon which features the same basic training and commitment to quality that James Joseph is known for. We then opened our second James Joseph Studio in Medford in 2007.

We strive to constantly educate ourselves in the most current hair care techniques and to make a warm and welcoming environment for our clients. The knowledge of our staff has been featured in numerous magazines and repeatedly on television. We have also developed an extensive training program that has produced some of the most talented stylists in Boston. Our apprentices train for over two years before taking clients, and our entire staff attends monthly classes.

We believe that growth is a product of learning and hard work. Our Awards and the remarkable amount of Press, Editorial, and Television we have received reflect that hard work and the appreciation of our clients. And we have an amazing group of clients ranging in age from 17 to 70.

We also launched our signature product line Balance by James Joseph in 2010. The first two products are a Shampoo and Conditioner for Frequent Use. The line is based on balancing Hair and Scalp with Science and Nature. It is Vegan and Free of Sulfates, Parabens, DEA, MEA, Synthetic Colors, Foam Boosters, and Harsh Preservatives. Seek Balance!
